Theme Song by Darren Coggan
Wagga Wagga’s very own Golden Guitar winner Darren Coggan, the headline act at the Open Day, wrote a song inspired by Rex’s slogan ‘Our Heart is in the Country’. The song’s union of the lyrics and melody captures the essence of country scenery and projects a sense of warmth and belonging.
Darren has appeared in numerous musical roles, most recently in 2010 in his sell-out highly acclaimed production ‘Peace Train- The Cat Stevens Story’. Darren has also appeared in television productions and is currently a presenter on ‘Sydney Weekender’ for Channel Seven. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Darren was awarded the ‘Centenary Medal- For Services to Australian Society’ in 2003.
